TODAY ON HISTORY: August 30

The people laid wreaths of honour,
On every last Monday of August.
They parade with pride, and with joy,
As they celebrate the bravery of their blood.

As they honour the heroes who lost their lives
In the pursuit of a noble nation.
We remember their lives, and the untold narratives
Of both the known and the unknown; of how their sweats sustain the Flower,
The Pearl, the Philippines — to a bloom.
